Well...damn.

The union and the company came to a tentative agreement at 5 a.m. this morning, basically putting an end to the strike...for now.

I guess the next steps are to get the agreement ratified by the voting union population (not me) in the next few weeks.

I guess I'm a little sad about this, only because it would have been interesting to see the strike happen, since I've never been a part of that, and another part of me is releived since I've heard horror stories about those that cross the line and what can happen.

It's also nice because the stress level at work as seemed to plummet overnight, which is good, because there are a couple of die-hard union people in our department that were making life at work a living hell. Bad attitudes, pushing the fringe of the line, stepping over it in some cases, and making everyone feel uncomfortable.

Well, I guess there's always a chance that it won't get ratified and the strike will still happen, but I don't know.
